The Fresh Pooch Corporation is looking for a friendly, reliable, positive and enthusiastic dog groomer and van operator to join our team. The successful candidate will perform basic dog grooming procedures, including breed standard cuts and will drive around the GTA. The right candidate will have previous dog grooming experience, will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of four-legged companions and possess a valid Ontario drivers’ license. As a mobile service company, we move throughout the city to see our customers. The majority of our customers are located in North York, Midtown Toronto, Downtown Toronto, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, and Oakville.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The dog Groomer and van operator will be responsible for the pets bath and groom, hygienic care as well as a process by which the pet’s physical appearance is enhanced, additionally will operate the vehicle (van) to provide the services. A dog groomer is a person who earns their living grooming pets.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Maintain an active interest in the welfare of animals; work with pet owners to address their concerns and provide necessary care.
- ● Groom pets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- ● Groom pets using proper techniques (breed specific cuts) to ensure proper health and sanitation.
- ● Bath and dry the pets.
- ● Monitor and document animal behaviour.
- ● Nail trims/grinds and ear cleaning.
- ● Promote the benefits of regular grooming.
- ● Communicate with customers.
- ● Operate the vehicle (van) to provide the service
- ● Clean and disinfect cages, pens and surrounding areas.
- ● Be a team player.
- QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- ● Education: Completion of high school.
- ● Experience: 2 years of experience in the position.
- ● Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English.
- ● Additional skills: Be able to clearly communicate with clients.
- ● Certificates: Pet grooming certificates are a plus
- ● Driving experience: Driving experience and an Ontario driver’s license are a plus.
